​Concept​ - The Filtering of Light ​

It affects emotions, triggers wonder, pleasure, and intrigue. It colors our perception and experiences of places, structures and environments.



Through the use of a central atrium, natural light is brought into the building where it descends through the translucent concrete staircase.  Cut outs in the atrium wall allow for natural light to filter into the perimeter areas.  Resin sliding panels along the perimeter of the atrium create freedom for users to adjust the amount of light entering the spaces.  The use of layering ceiling panels of different translucencies, transparencies and opaqueness create unique shadows along the

interior surfaces.
